Huntington Ingalls Industries has an immediate opening for a Windows Systems Administrator in San Antonio, Texas. The candidate must have a strong background with Windows Server 2012 R2 system administration including application installation, configuration, support, testing, and troubleshooting. Experience on the administration of Web environments is highly desired, as well as experience with deployment and configuration automation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who excels in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Windows Server (2008, 2012 R2, 2016) System Administration and maintenance

  • Application installation, configuration, support, testing, and troubleshooting

  • VMware System Administration (vSphere 5.X/6.X) – Basic knowledge

  • Deployment & Configuration Automation

  • IIS Web Server configuration (HTTP(s), FTP, SMTP, .NET)

  • Web Technologies

  • Able to work and interact with others in a structured / team environment

  • Accuracy and attention to detail, must have organizational skills

  • Independent problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making and analytical skills

  • Time management skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audience on technical issues

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate on a technical level to a technical audience

  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call

  • Ability to do limited travel (0 - 4 times a year)

Qualifications and Experience:

Required- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of IT experience required

  • Database Administration (desired: Microsoft SQL, MySQL)

  • VMware vCloud/vRealize (basic knowledge)

  • Backups and Restoring (desired: NetBackup)

  • System Monitoring (desired but not required: Zabbix)

  • Document Management Systems (Drupal, Sharepoint)

  • Collaborative Platforms (Sharepoint)

  • Authentication and Access Control (basic knowledge: Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, SAML)

Preferred-

  • Hardware support skills

  • Report Writing (SQL Server, Crystal, Business Objects)

  • Networking/VPN Support

  • Application-specific experience (Government Accounting, Probation and Pretrial)
