HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a Lead Research Scientist (Analytic) to work in either Orlando, FL, Monterey, CA or potentially remote location. The individual selected for this position will serve as the Lead Psychometrician and provide support to the project. This person is responsible for the general planning, designing, and conduct of analyses and makes major contributions to the design, formulation, and implementation of studies and projects.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Plan, design, and lead research using behavioral science principles, methodologies, and technologies in a theoretical and applied setting. Generate/contribute to new or modified methods that support R&D of processes, systems, and technologies used in assessment for a variety of purposes.
Design psychological measurement instruments as needed to evaluate testing program issues. Design content and sensitivity reviews. Design test specifications and procedures for test development and implementation and detection of test compromise, including obtaining government and human subject protection approvals.
Function as an expert in major activities of the projects such as the design, development, and validation of cognitive and non-cognitive assessments and the evaluation of geographic, demographic, and other characteristics of populations.
Assume responsibility for the technical quality and timeliness of research projects.
Translate findings into succinct, actionable insights. Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals, make customer presentations, and contribute to proposal efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of a Master's degree in an analytical science field, plus 15 years of related work experience; or a Ph.D. in an analytical science field, plus 10 years of related work experience. Examples of acceptable degrees include mathematics, statistics, quantitative psychology, data science, engineering, and computer science
Must be a US citizen with at minimum a National Agency Check & Inquiries (NACI) personnel background investigation.
Significant experience with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, including psychometrics, statistical modeling using unidimensional and multidimensional item response theory (IRT), classical test theory (CTT), parameter estimation, calibration, equating, differential item/test functioning, linking, scaling, factor analyses, structural equation modeling, machine learning, and other multivariate techniques.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills. Able to maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of technical and scientific personnel and teams as well as client managers.
Excellent skills with SPSS, R, WinBUGS, Mplus, SAS, or any other major statistical software
Good skills with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Provide mentoring to other employees as regards project-related activities
