HII-Camber is currently seeking an Operations Assistant/Editor to work out of the Monterey, CA office.

Job Duties:

Administrative duties: Provide administrative, planning, and execution support to the management team; draft daily operations agendas, assist with purchase requisitions, create cost estimates, collect and organize electronic and hard copy documents and contract deliverables for HII-TSD and clients; monitor workflow, set work priorities, and troubleshoot day-to-day deadline and project conflicts to ensure deadlines are met; learn and then maintain the ISO Curriculum Development Process; support the planning, development and execution of specific programs, tailored to US military Combatant Commands, organizations, nations and events, to enhance capabilities in peacekeeping training and complex emergencies.

Basic Qualifications: Proficient word processing and software skills, using the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro, a working knowledge of In-Design and Photoshop. Strong knowledge of English grammar, with editing experience.

Able to work comfortably with tight deadlines and creatively work across a wide range of personalities, skill sets and, at times, conflicting requirements. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize, and accommodate short-notice changes to plans, thus must be adaptable, flexible and able to provide solutions based on initiative and judgment. Must be a detail-oriented team player, with excellent editing and writing skills. Must work well in a flexible, multi-tasking environment, and be able to work extended hours on occasion, with the potential for occasional overseas travel.

Preferred Experience: Two to four years of experience in resource management, staffing, and scheduling of personnel across a diverse spectrum of cross-functional requirements for operational support to clients. Editing and proposal or technical writing experience with academic institutions, nongovernmental or governmental organizations, publishing companies or private/government contractor. Previous experience working with government agencies, non-governmental agencies (NGOs) and international organizations would be beneficial but is not required.

Preferred Education : Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Resource Management, or related fields.

Editing: Write clearly and concisely; edit documents, reports, presentations and project outlines for publications, briefings and training material; edit finished products by reviewing content for format, grammar, punctuation, style, consistency, clarity, logic and cohesion; revise products to meet pre-determined standards of style and accuracy; confer with material authors to coordinate updates, corrections and speaker notes.

Act as Backup Multimedia Support Specialist: Coordinate course material updates, work with printing shop, format course files, load USBs with final course material, and perform light graphic design touch-ups and minor graphic edits.
