Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking an Aegis Weapon System Training Specialist to join our diverse, team-oriented company. The successful candidate will provide Aegis Training Readiness Center (ATRC) officer training support using current surface combat systems Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP), Navy Mission Essential Task List (NMETL), Operational Task/ Operational Orders (OPTASK/OPORDERS), Battle Orders, and Firing Point Procedures (FPP).
Candidate must be capable of providing Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) level of knowledge and expertise; delivering course materials designed to train Aegis Fire Controlman and System Test Officers (STO) the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide supervision and guidance of organizational maintenance for element level technicians.
Qualified Radar Systems Coordinator (RSC) with experience operating the SPY-1 radar variants.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Directs, coordinates, and supervises operation of the AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS) to include SPY-1D(V), CND, AWS, FCS, WCS, ADS, VLS, SM2, ORTS, ACTS, and BMD via baseline specific elements, computer systems, and ACNT local area networks.
Develops, organizes, and conducts training for Navy enlisted technicians and System Test Officers for all AEGIS baselines including BMD capable systems:
1. Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers training and related materials in support of ATRC/CSCS courses.
2. Establishes course content and objectives.
3. Conducts formal course reviews for updating curriculum to current capabilities.
4. Updates course Resource Requirements List (RRL) on a regular basis to ensure its relevance to the appropriate ACS capability.
6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant AEGIS BMD baselines capabilities and limitations.
7. Conducts research into new training, educational, and multimedia technologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum eight years’ experience as either a manager of an Aegis Combat System maintenance organization or team of tactical operators engaged in the employment of Aegis Weapon Systems, with at least five years operator experience in the tactical employment of the Combat Systems in the support of Surface, Subsurface, Air, Strike, C4I, and Ballistic Missile Defense warfare areas.
Must be experienced with NETC curriculum and learning standards to include curriculum development, training certifications, course maintenance, topic learning objectives development, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and instructor/laboratory evaluations processes.
Active Secret Clearance
Equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or military experience with a minimum 8 – 12 years’ experience in support of Aegis Combat Systems as operator, instructor and maintainer in support of at sea operations.
A qualified Master Training Specialist (MTS) experienced with Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) processes.
