Camber is seeking an Information Assurance (IA) Systems Engineer Level 2. The candidate will be responsible for conducting tasks in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF); Enterprise Mission Assurance Service Support (eMASS); Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS); Government Property Control and Asset Management; and design, engineering, build, test, and deployment of security vulnerability assessment solutions. This includes authoring and coordinating correspondence, briefings, reports, presentations, and simulator system security documentation.

Job Description:

As a member of the cybersecurity team, the candidate is expected to assist in the conduct and review of RMF security controls and vulnerability assessments. The goal is to achieve issuance of an Authorization to Operate (ATO) by Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI) Headquarters Air Force (HAF)/A3O for Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS) simulators and their associated networks, information systems, and applications as outlined below:

  1. Support the System Information System Owner (ISO), with establishing, maintaining, and tracking the security plans from eMASS in accordance with steps one through four of the RMF process as documented at the RMF Knowledge Service.

  2. Assist the System ISSMs with the development and maintenance of organizational and system-level cybersecurity that includes cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives and policies, cybersecurity personnel, and cybersecurity processes and procedures.

  3. Assist in supporting the System ISSMs with managing and updating cybersecurity information to include verifying artifacts are properly documented in eMASS.

  4. Support the System ISSMs and ISSOs by recommending procedures and corrective measures to initiate when a cybersecurity incident or vulnerability is discovered. Ensure that a process is in place for authorized users to report all cybersecurity-related events and potential threats and vulnerabilities to the ISSO.

  5. Develop and provide information assurance (IA) and cybersecurity training, guides and instructions to increase awareness of assigned personnel of the changing IA environment and facilitate streamlining of the Authorization and Accreditation process in the future.

  6. Assist the ISSMs in assessing the accuracy and completeness of system accreditation packages in accordance with RMF to increase the overall security posture of the programs.

  7. Review system artifacts (i.e., documents) to determine if they are completed and current. Witness first-hand, through facility visits, the actual processes related to each IA/security control. Tools such as the Nessus and ACAS scanners to verify Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation.

  8. Develop and report relevant metrics and information on cyber security, RMF, CM, and security control status of networks and systems.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  1. Candidates are required to have at a minimum a DOD 8570.01 IAM Level II certification.

  2. 3 years’ experience in conducting information system security assessments; evaluating Information Assurance and Cybersecurity security controls; conducting and supporting RMF Steps; a strong working knowledge of the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) is acceptable.

  3. Possess a strong working knowledge of eMASS and ACAS operations (formal training preferred).

  4. Experience in applying information systems security principles and concepts as well as project management principles.

  5. Experience in applying information systems security concepts and methods across multiple IT disciplines.

  6. Experience with operational Air Force simulator systems is desired.

  7. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint).

  8. Demonstrate excellent writing and verbal skills.

  9. Secret security clearance is mandatory, must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access.

  10. Up to 33% travel is required.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • CompTIA CASP, ISC2 CAP or higher example CISSP, GIAC, CISM

Desired Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree plus 6 years of functional experience, OR; An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR 11 total years of recent specialized experience.
