Operational Support Linguist (OSL)
The selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph
Native-level proficiency and/or advanced professional proficiency in one or more of the following foreign languages:Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Persian-Farsi, Spanish, Punjabi, German, Somali, Turkish, Hausa, French, Kurdish, Russian, Uzbek, Bengali, Indonesian, and Tajik;
Candidates must have passed either an Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) based language test or the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) V within 9 months of submission for consideration of a position.If not, candidates must be willing to test.Minimum scores shall be Level 4 according to the ILR scale for Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.Exceptions may be granted for those candidates with military experience and/or IC experience and/or a background with DOMEX;
Analytical skills and computer systems aptitude at a level necessary to efficiently and effectively process large amounts of electronic documentation and material;
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to accurately screen and logically define or describe material content for reporting and uploading to NMEC databases;
Experience with quality control activities to include reviewing other linguists work for accuracy, and providing final editorial approval for reports and briefings;
Familiarity with the NMEC Exploitation System and processes
Willingness to work OCONUS on a voluntary basis
Proficiency in two or more of the languages stated above (or dialects of a language)
Conduct language and content examination of electronic media and written materials for screening and processing.
Preparing written gists, translations, and/or transcriptions of general and technical material. The material consists of handwritten or typed documents, audio, and/or video file formats.
Prepare written reports of findings for dissemination to team members and customers. Work will predominantly be at Government facilities located in the National Capital Region (NCR). Some work will take place at other offices, and at National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) and Intelligence Community (IC) facilities worldwide..
