As an On-Site SAS Administrator, you will assist the customer to maximize value of SAS technologies and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. You will provide operational support on SAS technologies focusing in the areas of installation, configuration, security, data management, system integration, and user interface. You will need a strong knowledge of SAS products for participation in design and implementation of complex solution architectures; participate in design process; ability to relate technical concepts to SAS System applications and user needs and oversee the technical progress of ongoing services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Expert in the installation, configuration and deployment of SAS products for Windows workstations and Linux servers

  • SAS Administration with 5+ years of hands-on experience working with SAS products on top of a Windows platform

  • Experience managing multi-tier SAS platform with products listed under ORDP SAS Data Analytics Platform (DAP) above

  • Experience with SAS Management Console

  • Creating libraries (SAS and RDBMS)

  • Both SAS and OS level security knowledge

  • Developing and creating security schemes; delegated authority security management schemes

  • Creating users, groups, roles

  • Experience with SAS server deployment and administration

  • Experience with SAS configuration files

  • Experience with PIV card and Active Directory Authentication

  • Experience administering SAS Mid-tier

  • Experience with SAS EBI, EDM, EM, Forecaster, Model Manager, Visual Analytics

  • Experience with SAS Scheduling Process

  • Experience with different SAS servers and troubleshooting potential configuration problems

  • Experience with SSL encryption of mid-tier information preferred

  • Experience with DB2 Database preferred

  • Setting up Data Access in SAS, including registering libraries and tables in the metadata, updating table metadata, setting up data access, and troubleshooting data access

  • Web Application Server administration and configuration knowledge

  • Participate in new SAS pilots prior to production rollout

  • Assist in the development of methodologies for deploying SAS to the customer environment

  • Receive and provide inventory control of SAS software from SAS Institute

  • Provide SAS version control for Windows workstation and Linux server environment

  • Provide SAS license renewal update distribution

  • Provide day-to day user and technical support, open, monitor, and close all SAS incident calls submitted by customer SAS users and on behalf of customer SAS users via the customer Remedy System

  • Facilitate communications between the SAS Institute and the customer

  • Leverage internal SAS product expert resources to stay current with SAS products

Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in technical field (for example: engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field) plus 5 years of professional experience

  • Three (3) years of operational support, technical customer support or technical consulting

  • One (1) year of experience building applications

  • Proficiency in SAS 9.2 or higher

  • One (1) year working with SAS Foundation technologies and SAS platform technologies


  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards, methodologies and SAS foundation technologies, architecture and resources

  • Clear understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices

  • Good problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Travel as business requirements dictate at management discretion

Security Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

  • Must be able to obtain and keep a USPS Sensitive Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years

  • Applicant cannot have traveled outside of the U.S. for more than 180 days in the past 5 years
